The young mother in Pennsylvania who fell from the moving truck her husband was driving, and run over by the trailer in tow, has died. The husband has now charged with murder, according to multiple reports.
Andrew Lawrence Ryan, the husband of Robin Ryan who died, was charged with third-degree murder on Aug. 29, Breaking 911 reported. Robin Ryan passed away on April 27 at the medical facility she had been staying in since 2017, Levittown Now reported.
On Aug. 28, an autopsy was performed to establish her cause of death, Levittown Now reported.
According to Breaking 911, Andrew Ryan is due in court on Sept. 3 for the arraignment.
According to Breaking 911, the witnesses who saw the incident told authorities that Robin Ryan seemed to have been pushed out of the cab of the Ford F-250, almost in a flying motion before she hit head first on the pavement. The incident occurred around the 100 block of Lincoln Highway in Falls Township witnesses reported. According to Levittown Now, she was then hit by a trailer that was attached to the truck Andrew Ryan was driving.
In an earlier reporting by Levittown Now, Robin Ryan was found bleeding profusely from her head and suffering from leg fractures. The bystanders who found her—which included a nurse—helped her until medics arrived to provide further help.
The witnesses said that while people rushed to help Robin Ryan, Andrew Ryan drove away from the scene of the crime, according to Levittown Now. He was stopped a short while later by Pennsylvania State Police on Trenton Road. He explained to authorities that he was intoxicated, admitting he had drunk four beers and two shots of tequila prior to the incident.
Andrew Ryan told authorities that before the incident, a heated argument took place regarding finances. The argument had continued into the car, according to Breaking 911.
According to KYW News Radio, Bob James, the prosecutor at the 2018 trial, called Andrew Ryan’s actions of running away a sign of a guilty man.
“Six or seven people ran to help Robin. He fled from the scene. That’s consciousness of guilt in my book,” James said.
In addition, James said that there was a long history of abuse with Andrew Ryan, citing that Robin Ryan’s male friend had confronted Andrew Ryan. In return, Ryan threatened to kill Robin Ryan’s friend’s wife and children, the news outlet reported.
In September 2018, Andrew Ryan was sentenced to seven to 20 years after pleading no contest to aggravated assault and other charges for the 2017 hit and run.
In the earlier report by Levittown Now, Robert James, the deputy district attorney, said Robin Ryan never regained her consciousness. In addition, he said she was kept alive by feeding and tracheostomy tubes. In a report by Bucks County Courier Times, Robin Ryan was barely conscious and the chance she would recover would be minimal.
Prosecutors said previously if Robin Ryan dies from her injuries, besides being charged with aggravated assault, they will charge Andrew Ryan with homicide.
